That about covers things. There are some details missing, but mostly you've covered things.

One of the details is that SCS would have been obligated to close the Jim Crow Optional Programs while simultaneously opening up AP/Honors classes in all schools.

The majority of the people want things to go that way, but a minority portion of the population controls the school board and is forcing their Jim Crow ways on Memphis, counting out 4$ to the Jim Crow Optionals to each 1$ spent elsewhere.

Now they want to do that same thing to the rest of the county.

It would be nice if we had one person to help guide and push this process, but we don't, and we won't. The TPC is too large and has little to no power.

The USB is too large and will be chock full of people who know their spot is only temporary.

Meanwhile, both groups are filled with people who are tasked with helping with the merger, while at the same time they have a foot out the door trying to find a way out.

Yes, even the infamous Lester Maddox, governor of georgia stood in the courthuse door to stop black kids from attending.

Bull Conner, the infamous sheriff in alabama said that blacks would not be allowed to cross the selma bridge.

Judges said different and look at what happened? They were all made to eat their words.
