The Democrats, for some reason, took this ability away two decades ago. Why Tennessee doesn't try to educate their children as well as possible, including local control and responsibility, is beyond me.

I've always felt racism and intolerance between races can only really pass as generations pass.

I still believe that to be true and it works from both ends, the formerly oppressed and the former oppressors. What you see in Memphis is a great example of the problems for the formerly oppressed group.

Basically, that is the same thing I said. It is not the schools, nor the administration, it is the individual parents and through them, the schoolchildren.

I, personally wish and sincerely hope that every child succeed in their educational and life's endeavors. In saying that, I realize that the state, county, city nor any entity can guarantee that every child perform up to and/or exceed their expectations.
