I believe the issue was your contention that changing two conservative votes on the SCOTUS to liberal votes could change the intrepretation of the second Amendment and change the way guns are treated in this country.

I pointed out, quite nicely, I think, that the people of this country will decide for themselves which laws they will follow. That was why Prohibition failed.

First of all, no one is talking about confiscating guns already in the possession of citizens. The only thing that is being debated is the banning of assault type weapons.

It is not for the government to invade citizens households to seize guns. It is the governments responsibility to set laws that control them.

If assault weapons are banned, manufacturers will not make as many, if the supply is down, there won't be as many people buying them.

You forgot, there is an easy way of stopping, well, at least, lowering gun deaths and crimes with guns.

All you have to do is replace two conservative Supreme Court Justices with two moderate or liberal ones. That will give the liberals the majority.
