Amy LaVere CD Release Party Tuesday

Memphis musician Amy LaVere celebrates her second album, "Anchors and Anvils," (Archer Records) with a release party at the Hi-Tone Tuesday night.

"Amy LaVere is the most promising emerging artist I've seen in years. She has the whole package -- the songs, the voice, the looks ... You run across artists all the time who have part of it, but Amy has it all," says legendary producer Jim Dickinson.

"Anchors & Anvils" delivers smart and sexy tales of spooky love, twangy ache, sultry torch and gutsy blues, according to the press release. You can read Flyer music writer Chris Davis' take on the CD here.

The party starts at 8:00. Be there or be really square.
