Do you ever feel like calling in sick to work when, in fact you feel just fine? Do you feel the need to get more creative with your fake excuses for dodging the daily grind? According to Adweek Red Deluxe, a promising new Memphis design shop has created a promotional CD to help you do just that. Sounds For Slackers, as the disk is titled, contains nine soundscapes designed to trick your boss into thinking you are impossibly tied up at home and unable to make it in to work on time, if (God forbid) at all. Excuses include, "My Flight1s Been Canceled," (complete with airport sounds), "My Kids Are Sick," (screaming babies), "I'm on a Very Important Conferenc Call," (featuring hard core wonk talk ab"ut ad-copy corrections), and the dynamic duo of, "My Grandma Died,2 and "My Grandma Died... No, No, the Other Grandmother." Sadly the popular excuse, "My Pants! Somebody Stole My Pants!," is not included on the disc.
