Carroll County in Tennessee has received a $1 million grant for a performing-arts center to be named for the country's most famous native. Dixie Carter has had a long and illustrious film and stage career which reached its apogee with the 1980s sitcom Designing Women 'The center will be located in Huntington's historic town square. No plans are currently in the works to create an adjoining fried-chicken stand named for Carter's Designing Women costar Delta Burke.
