Eddie Vedder at the Orpheum Theatre

Originally set for this spring, the rescheduled solo concert from Pearl Jam frontman and West Memphis 3 activist Eddie Vedder is back on tap for this week. In the more than two decades since Pearl Jam emerged as the most long-lasting grunge-era graduate, Vedder has occasionally dabbled in work outside the band. He sang lead on post-punk icon Mike Watt's stupendous anthem "Against the '70s" and did lots of soundtrack work, culminating in an album's worth for 2007's Into the Wild. But 2011's against-the-grain Ukulele Songs was Vedder's first traditional solo album, and it's exactly what it claims to be. Vedder's embrace of the instrument has a lot more to do with its use by classic-rock antecedents such as George Harrison and Pete Townshend than it does with more recent warbly indie cute, though he does stray into that area on a duet with Cat Power on the chestnut "Tonight You Belong to Me." Vedder also duets with Glen Hansard, the frontman for Irish band the Frames, who's probably better known for his work in the cult-favorite film Once. Hansard joins Vedder as an opening act for this make-up concert, which takes place at the Orpheum Theatre on Wednesday, November 21st. Tickets are $77.50. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
