FAIRLY BALANCED

Shortly after the first presidential debate, the Fox news web site ran a number of fabricated quotes wherein presidential hopeful John Kerry admired his perfectly metrosexual manicure. The fake quotes were attributed to Fox's lead reporter for the Kerry campaign, Carl Cameron. Later the same day Fox quoted members of the satirical GOP group Communists for Kerry as if they were actual Kerry supporters who believe the senator's agenda meshes well with an anti-capitalist agenda. An internal memo from Fox senior VP John Moody said, "Credibility is ourlifeblood. When we make factual mistakes we affect adversely all the hard work we've done...to become the country's leading news channel." Note to Moody: There is a bit of a difference between making factual errors and making things up.
