Fly on the Wall

Blues (City) Clues

This is a roadside dumpster.

It's filled with crapola.

This dumpster full of crapola has been taking up parking spaces and unbeautifying its neighborhood for a couple of years at least. But where is it? Is it ...

A) On James Road in Frayser?

B) In front of an abandoned building on Preston Street in South Memphis?

C) Deep in the heart of Nutbush?

D) Behind the Corned Beef Hut on Chelsea?

E) None of the above?

(The answer can be found at the bottom of this column.)

Trash Talk

We interrupt this quiz for a special report. According to various sources, Memphis wrestling promoter Corey Maclin is suing loudmouthed WWE honcho Vince McMahon for preventing Jerry "The King" Lawler from fighting Hulk Hogan at the FedExForum last year. It's a shame when these disputes can't be settled by a 10-man all-midget tag-team bout.

A Clue

Most of the crapola in our mystery dumpster is just crapola. But there are also some nicely printed brochures.

and the answer is ...

E. If you guessed that our mystery dumpster full of crapola is located downtown directly in front of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, you are correct. It practically screams, "Welcome to Memphis ... sucker."
