Verbatim "I know that's strange to most people, but I love animals, and people should respect that they are living things just like us." — Tina Childrey on why her 23-year-old daughter Brandi Rish made the right choice by running into a utility pole instead of running over a squirrel.

Meanwhile, Elvis was officially named an honorary citizen of Budapest. If that wasn't enough weird Elvis, Jesse Jackson Jr. did an impersonation of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich impersonating Elvis during Blago's trial last week.

When recounting Blago's apology for not hiring Jackson's wife as state lottery director, Jackson said, "In classic Elvis Presley fashion, he snapped his fingers and said, 'You should have given me that $25,000.'" When Blagojevich's attorney asked Jackson what a classic Elvis move might look like, he responded by pointing both index fingers at the jury and purred, "Thankyavurrymush."

Coke Habit Sixty-year-old Genevie Costello was charged with domestic violence after she hit her brother in the head with a remote control. According to reports, the feud started when the family ran out of Diet Coke.

Media Notes The Commercial Appeal will begin charging users for its online content. While on the subject of shooting yourself in the foot, KWAM added Tom Gresham's nationally syndicated radio show, Gun Talk, which airs in the Sunday morning, pre-church drive time slot.
