Fly on the Wall

Deere Elvis

Another Elvis Week has come and gone, leaving in its wake a boatload of quirky fan stories. There are none sweeter than this one: Shane Louwerens, lead instructor for the John Deere Tech Program at Northwest Mississippi Junior College in Senatobia, has written A John Deere Fit for a King, chronicling his experiences leading a team of students in restoring Elvis' tractor. The book has only received one review on Amazon, a five-star rave from a commenter named Smoochy: "Best book in the whole entire world. I'm finding a way to frame it! :) I'm so proud of you daddy!!!"

Saggy and Saggier

Typically, your Pesky Fly isn't all that concerned with droopy drawers, but this new report by Fox 13 supplied an especially revolting mental image: "A new Arkansas law is taking aim at saggy britches, saying students can't wear clothes that expose their underwear, butt, or a female's breast at school." Because if the britches are saggy, what kind of breasts are they going to expose?

The Sidebar

Sometimes it's fun to visit WREG.com just to see what kind of inexplicables are being linked in the sidebar. This week's offerings included photographs of a sword-wielding President Obama (with Kung-Fu Grip!).
