Fly on The Wall

It's the Memphis Flyer's annual "Best of Memphis" issue and Fly on the Wall wants to play along...

BEST License Plate
This entry should be called "Best license plate spotted at a stoplight in Nashville's West End on an exceptionally dark night." Since we know it's not a very good photograph, here's a description: The personalized Nashville plate bears the image of a young Elvis Presley alongside his autograph and reads "TNK YA."

BEST Bumper Sticker
It was the "Don't blame me. I voted for Willie Nelson" sticker that caught the Fly's compound eye. But it was the "I heart Cooter" sticker that won our undying admiration.

BEST Reason to Wince
Yes, we know this isn't a new development, but it's difficult to stroll past the Orpheum's star-studded walk of fame day after day without wondering how, in Memphis, a city whose artists are responsible for creating some of the world's most influential music, smooth sax player Kenny G got his name on a sidewalk star. What's next? A Beale Street note for Mannheim Steamroller? A street named for Yanni, master of the pan flute?
