Two more art openings tonight. One is at Second Floor Contemporary, for "Omaha Paintings" by Hamlett Dobbins; the other is at the relatively new David Mah Studio for "In Retrospect:Chronological Development and Image" by Everett Charles Yates. Tonight's big Overton Park 100th Birthday Celoebration includes live music, a tree planting,and a screening at the Shell of William Bearden's documentary about the park. Today kicks off this weekend's Clanjamfry 3-Day Scottish Festival at 613 University, with Scottish music, food, goods, and other entertainment. Down in Tunica at Grand Casino there's a Classic Blues Show with Bobby "Blue" Bland, Bobby Rush, and Latimore. And here at home, it's Classic Soul Night at the Budweiser Pavilion in W.C. Handy Park on Beale, featuring Confunkshun with Michael Cooper. Tonight's 10th Annual Hank Williams Sr. Birthday Celebration at the P&H Cafe features Greg Hisky & His Dixie Whisky Boys. And last but certainly not least, Memphis music legend Alex Chilton is at Young Avenue Deli tonight, along with Cary Hudson and The 45s.
