Sophisticated Ladies, the musical revue that pays tribute to jazz great Duke Ellington, opens tonight at Circuit Playhouse. There are opening receptions at Sleeping Cat Studio for work by Wess Loudenslager and at David Mah Studio for work by David Michael Comstock. Carol Burnett Show and Mama's Family star Vicki Lawrence brings her comedy to GPAC tonight. George Carlin brings his comedy to Sam's Town in Tunica. And here at home there's an NRGLuv Party featuring DJs Xytort, John Fictious, and Justin Hand at the Full Moon Club. Although the shows are sold out, you could stick your ear to the window at the Hi-Tone tonight and tomorrow night to hear none other than Elvis Costello. And, as always, The Chris Scott Band is at Poplar Lounge.
