Lots of art openings tonight. They are at: David Mah Studio for work by Matthew Hasty; Joysmith Gallery & Studio for work by Pam Hasslser; GPAC for work by Ann Cobb; David Lusk Gallery for work by Robert Rector; Perry Nicole Fine Art for work by Robert Malone; Albers Fine Art Gallery for work by Brent Funderburk; Memphis College of Art for an exhibit of sculptural forms; and last but certainly not least, at Butler Street Bazaar for Space Available, works in various media by this group formed in Gulfport, Mississippi, which features some 11 Southeastern artists in their seventh exhibition. FM 107.5 The Pig, voted Best FM Station in the recent Best of Memphis Poll, is bringingPaul Thorn to The Peabody s Skyway Room tonight; the singer-songwriter has opened for such greats as Sting, Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, Marianne Faithfull, and John Prine, and has co-written songs with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi and Carole King. And, as always, the Chris Scott Band is at Poplar Lounge tonight.
