This month the bad boys at Mad, in one of their infamous film spoofs, lampoon the FedEx commercial, er, major motion picture Cast Away and take a couple of shots at Memphis in the process. At one point the Tom Hanks character says, The loneliness of this God-forsaken place. There are no signs of civilization. There are no signs of intelligent life. Actually it s not unlike Memphis!
