The magazine ranks the three-year-old Cottonwoods Golf Course at Grand Casino among the "Top 40 Casino Courses in the U.S." Designed by Hale Irwin, Cottonwoods is a par 72 course. More than half of the holes border water, and 80 traps along the Scottish-links-like rolling hills present significant challenges to even seasoned golfers.
Ranked by Golf Digest in another category -- "Best Courses Near But Not owned By Casinos" -- is the Tunica National Golf and Tennis. The 18-hole course has a six-hole par-3 practice course, a 20,000 square-foot clubhouse, circular driving range, and the Golf Training Academy.
