Grizzlies in Free Agent Pursuit

The Memphis Grizzlies are extending a contract offer to Josh Smith, a high-flying free agent forward with the Atlanta Hawks, according to reports today in both The Commercial Appeal and The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Smith, a 22-year-old forward who is considered one of the league's most athletic and exciting young players, is a restricted free agent, meaning the Hawks would have the right to match any offer.

For more information on how this situation might play out, see Beyond the Arc, Chris Herrington's Grizzlies blog, here.
