Help Wanted

Three fun fund-raisers happening this week, so let's get to it:

First up is the Rock 'n Wild Picnic at the Central Station Pavilion on Saturday, July 27th, from 5 to 8 p.m. Part of the Memphis Farmers Market's ongoing Farm to Fork series, the picnic will include pizza-by-the-slice from Rock 'n' Dough as well as Castello Monaci wines from Frederick Wildman Imports. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Tickets are $25, with proceeds going to the Memphis Farmers Market.

Also on Saturday, at 10 p.m. at the Hard Rock Cafe, is the Hard Rock Jam for Jalysa, a benefit concert for Jalysa Jacobs, who was seriously injured in a car accident. There will be a full lineup of music from such performers as Kitty Dearing, Barbara Blue, SNIPES, Darin Lee Jerden, and others. There will also be drink specials and giveaways ranging from Redbirds tickets to Hard Rock swag. Tickets for the jam are $5.

On Sunday, 4 p.m., the Green Beetle will be the site for Pints for Pups, benefiting the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County. While the event is free, attendees can buy a $10 raffle ticket that entitles them to a pint of craft beer and enters them to win one of several prizes being offered. Those who want to show solidarity can bring their dogs and enjoy the event on the Green Beetle's patio.
