HOT FOR TEACHERS

Sometimes politicians say some really stupid things. Okay, okay, OFTEN politicians say some really stupid things. When confronted with the issue of firing teachers at failing city schools, Mayor Willie Herenton made a bizarre apples-and-oranges comparison. If the crime rate went up, he asked, would you fire police officers? Well, let s see. If the police officers were actually committing the crimes, it might not be that bad of an idea.
