Hotties 2012

Hey Good Lookin.' What's Memphis Got Cookin'?

Feast your eyes upon these steaming hot ladies and gents. Spicing up our pages this year, our Memphis Flyer Hotties represent all that is sexy about Memphis: confidence, personality, and, of course, smoking-hot looks. Out of more than 100 submissions, we pared down our nominees to 14 fiery dishes.

This year, we continue our collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Memphis by allowing our readers to vote on their favorite hotties for a small donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters. The winners will be crowned at our open-to-the-public party at Cortona Contemporary Italian on February 23rd.

We'd like to extend an extra special thanks to Viking Cooking School and CenWood Kitchens Showroom for providing the sexy venue for our Hotties photo shoot.

Cast your vote by using the Buy Now links below each Hottie's profile. You'll be taken to PayPal to complete your transaction.

(Don't worry if you don't have a PayPal account, you can pay with your debit or credit card as a Guest. Problem voting? Email us at voting@memphisflyer.com.)

Voting closes on Wednesday, February 22nd at midnight. 100% of proceeds go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Memphis.

Dr. Fauzi Khan

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Fauzi came to Memphis in 1992. Not only is she a general dentist, she's also a reserve deputy sheriff for Shelby County and an instructor for the Sheriff's Training Academy. She's single, and she packs heat — what could be hotter?

What are you most passionate about?
Dentistry and fitness. I love what I do, and I love working out.

What is your most humiliating memory?
When I was going to the training academy and we had to shoot the pistol course and I hyper-extended my elbow and broke it. I screamed out loud in front of the entire class and all my instructors.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain."

How will you spend Valentine's Day this year?
I despise Valentine's Day, because people expect you to be dating someone.

What is your dream job?
FBI agent.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Going out to Stella Marris or Electric Cowboy. Going out downtown or on Beale Street.

What qualities do you think make someone hot?
Someone loyal, athletic, a gentleman, and down-to-earth.

Will Vestal

He's 28, single, a Memphis native, and in charge of contemporary buying and the director of communications at Oak Hall. Do we have your attention? Consider this: Will has also recently taken up metalworking. It's enough to make your heart melt.

What is the worst pick-up line ever used on you?
I'm pretty much a sucker for all of them. You get the "Do I know you from somewhere?" all the time. That's pretty common.

What is the best advice you've ever received?
My dad always said, "Always take responsibility for your mistakes. Don't try and put it off on someone else. You get more respect for admitting when you're wrong."

What is your most humiliating memory?
I don't know... this? I'm going to catch hell for this.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
Kavinsky and Lovefoxxx's "Nightcall."

How will you spend Valentine's Day this year?
Is there a Tigers or a Grizzlies game on?

What is your biggest pet peeve in a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner?
If they're too clingy, it's over before it starts.

What were you for Halloween this year?
Dexter.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Hanging out with friends at Grizzlies games or on Main Street or in Cooper-Young.

What qualities do you think make someone hot?
Intelligence, humor, humility.

What would you want your last meal to be?
Probably a beef tenderloin and maybe some Italian food.

  • Vote for Tiffany

She was born and raised in Memphis, but soon this local hottie might very well become a California Girl: During our Hotties photo shoot, Tiffany received word of her acceptance and full ride to UC-Berkeley's master's program in journalism. This 21-year-old has the whole package: beauty, brains, and a heart of gold.

What do you do for a living?
I'm a student at the University of Memphis, adoption counselor at the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County, and an intern at Action News 5.

What is the worst pick-up line you've ever used?
When I was in the eighth grade, I told a guy, "I lost my number, can I have yours?" I was a very confident youngster.

What is the worst pick-up line ever used on you?
"You look like my future baby mama." I just had to stop and look at him.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
Jessie J's "Domino."

How will you spend Valentine's Day this year?
With my boyfriend. It's the last month I'll see him before he goes off to the military. I don't know what we have planned, but I want it to be something big and memorable.

What is your dream job?
International reporter for CNN.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Usually, I am either out with my friends around Germantown or just hanging out and watching a movie. I'll often bring a dog from the Humane Society home to spend some time outside of the shelter. They love being away from the hustle and bustle there.

What qualities do you think make someone hot?
Confidence. Being brave enough to be exactly who you are and standing up for what you believe in.

Cats or dogs?
I love them both so much, but I have to say I'm a dog person. Pit bulls are my favorite breed.

Eugene Ahn

We call him Eugene, but this 31-year-old is a hip-hop MC who goes by the name Adam WarRock. Born in Pittsburgh, Eugene was raised in Germantown. He's single, sexy, and musically inclined. Need we say more?

What are you most passionate about?
Creative expression and music. I grew up in a musical family.

What is the best advice you've ever received?
Before I became a rapper, which is the most ridiculous sentence I've ever said, I worked full-time as a lawyer. When I quit to go full-time [with my musical career], one of my good friends, who is a writer, gave me the best advice: If you want to succeed, you have to be ready to eat shit for a year straight. That's what happens with any creative person.

What is the worst pick-up line ever used on you?
I'm Asian American, so it's usually something about my race. It's awkward and weird to be singled out just because you're Asian.

When do you feel most confident?
When I'm onstage.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
It's the same thing all the time. It's "ABC" by the Jackson 5, and the reason is because my iPod function in my car defaults to the first song. So I need to put in a new song that says "AAAA," because that Jackson 5 song makes me want to go on a murder rampage.

Who is the hottest person you know in Memphis?
My friend Curt Franklin is a very attractive man in a bro-hetero way. If women don't think I'm attractive, they should go for him.

How will you spend Valentine's Day this year?
Resting because the next day I leave for a West Coast tour.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Going to one of the three bars that me and my friends go to. There's probably karaoke involved at some point. Maybe the P&H or the Cove or hanging out at someone's house drinking and goofing off.

Victoria Gibson

Andalusia, Alabama's loss is Memphis' gain. An aspiring model, Victoria came to Memphis two and a half years ago, and she's made the river city hotter ever since. She's our youngest hottie at 20-years-old, but as she'll tell you, Victoria's an old soul. Plus, she's hot. Did we mention she's hot?

Are you single/married/dating?
I'm in a relationship. It's my first one. That's pretty lame, but I'm picky. Guys in Memphis are weird.

What is the worst pick-up line anyone has ever used on you?
I would never date a guy who comes up to me with a pick-up line. If a guy hits on me, I'll run away. I'd rather a guy come up and start a conversation and try to be my friend instead of trying to get in my pants.

What is the best advice you've ever received?
Love yourself and be happy. That's from my dad. His biggest wish is for me to be happy and to love myself. I try to live every day like that.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
I'm the biggest dork ever in the world, so I listen to talk radio. Radio music really bums me out now. If I do listen to music, it's from the '70s and '80s. Very old music.

What were you for Halloween this year?
I was Cleopatra. I have a huge obsession with wigs, so I wore a black bob wig.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
I'm pretty lazy. Saturday nights are Netflix nights, or I may read a book. I'm so not a 20-year-old.

What was the last trip you took?
Being broke is the worst thing ever, because you can't do anything. I'm hopefully going to Disney for my birthday, so that will be my first big trip.

Cats or dogs?
Cats are adorable. Dogs are weird.

What would you want your last meal to be?
Probably some really good, expensive sushi.

Dylan G-Bowley

Dylan hails from Rochester, New York, and he trained as a professional dancer at Juilliard, but these days he calls Memphis home. And we're glad to have him, steaming up the Ballet Memphis stage. You can catch him dancing during Ballet Memphis' 25th anniversary season, but for an inside scoop on this hottie, read on.

What is the worst pick-up line you've ever used?
Because I had to try it once, I did try, "What's your sign?"

The worst pick-up line ever used on you?
A girl once asked me if I had a license and could I drive her car for her. It wasn't really interesting, just sort of weird. Maybe she was trying to quote the Beatles?

What is your dream job?
Dancing in a city I love and being able to do a wide range of choreography.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Usually, I cook a meal and meet up with friends at Beauty Shop or Molly Fontaine. If we have a party at someone's house, I'll DJ that. And lately I've been having beer-tasting nights with my guy friends.

Cats or dogs?
Dogs, although there are certain cats I fall head-over-heels for.

What would you want your last meal to be?
E.L. Fudge cookies, a Hoplanta beer, bread, and this thing called "The Dish" that a lot of the dancers make. It's a mixture of meat, noodles or rice, kale, and spices. I would want to cook it myself, because I love to cook.

Raph Small

You'd be hard-pressed to find a hottie with more personality than this University of Memphis student and intern at WREG Channel 3. Born and raised in Marion, Arkansas, 24-year-old Raph brings his fiery hot looks and charm over the bridge to share with us. Looking to win his heart? Try bringing him a dish from Molly's La Casita.

Are you single/married/dating?
Let's just say, right now, I'm in love. It doesn't hold me to any responsibilities though.

What is the worst pick-up line you've ever used?
"Do I know you from somewhere?"

When do you feel most confident?
I feel most confident around strangers. I know it's probably the opposite for a lot of people, but when I'm around strangers, I don't have to worry about them judging me. My friends know me so they can critique what I do. But strangers don't know me well enough to say, "Well, that's not how you do that" or "That's not what you said before."

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
Chris Brown's "Strip."

Mr. T from The A-Team.

What is your dream job?
News anchor personality for NBC news in the morning.

What would you want your last meal to be?
I don't care what hospital I'm in, get me to Molly's La Casita, please.

Debbi La Rue

If there's one thing this farm girl knows, it's how to get down and dirty. She's the manager of the Cooper-Young Community Farmers Market, an intern at Delta Sol Farm, and an anthropology student at the University of Memphis. But hands off, fellows, this 23-year-old Raleigh native is currently taken. Le sigh.

Food security, local farming, sustainable agriculture, and food-access issues in Memphis.

What is your most humiliating memory?
I was in a power yoga class and we were going to do a headstand. I was pretending like I was a pro, and I'd only been to a few classes. The instructor said we could go up against the wall, but I just went right into the headstand, flipped completely over, landed flat on my back.

What song was playing when you turned on your car/iPod this morning?
Beyoncé's "Countdown."

What are you most passionate about?
Juvenile diabetes. My daughter, Julianna, was diagnosed in October.

What is the best advice you've ever received?

I am most passionate about using my life to have a positive impact on other people, whether that's through my job or through mentoring or any other community service I do.

What is the worst pick-up line ever used on you?
I'm in the grocery store, and a guy walked up and was like, "Excuse me, can you tell me what it's like upstairs?" And I was confused, like, what do you mean "upstairs"? And he said, "Oh, you're not an angel?" It was pretty bad.

More of a philosophy than advice, but Oprah Winfrey said, "Because you are here, you are worthy."

What is the worst pick-up line ever used on you?
