"Icon: Design Exhibition"
Architecture Month kicks off with the opening reception for this exhibition honoring iconic design, ranging from a molded plastic Eames rocking chair to Aarnio puppies.
There’s also the Tour de Architecture bike ride on Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. at 511 S. Main. The seven-mile ride will be led by architects and historians ($15; registration: 525-3818).
Also on Sunday is the first in the weekly Celebrating Mid-Century Modern lecture series, 2 p.m. at 431 S. Main ($30 per lecture, $100 for series; registration: 525-3818). For information, go to architecturemonthmemphis.org.
