'Italian Night' for Calipari at Racquet Club

No matter if the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA are coachless and luckless. The other basketball team in town, coach John Calipari's University of Memphis Tigers, made the Elite Eight in this year's NCAA and are widely touted as the team to beat in the '07-'08 season. Any reason why Calipari's fellow Italian-Americans shouldn't celebrate? Niente! They and other Memphians honored the illustrious coach with "Italian Night for John Calipari" at the Racquet Club Thursday night.

Here Calipari (second from left) is with honorary paisans Mary McDonald, former Christian Brothers coach Nafe David, and Tony Barrasso, who was host for the evening. How do you say "Wait'll next year!" in Italian?
