It's Official: Luther Dickinson is a "Guitar God"

The February 22nd issue of Rolling Stone features a story on “The New Guitar Gods,” and the magazine says one member of that elite group is Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars.

"Luther and his brother, Allstars drummer Cody Dickinson, have an intimate knowledge of Southern blues," writes RS. "They are the sons of producer Jim Dickinson, who ensured they spent much of their adolescence with local giants such as R.L. Burnside and Otha Turner. Luther ignites that learning with slide work that sould like a county sheriff’s siren coming through a blown amp speaker and soloing that coats Duane Allman and 1967 Cream in real Mississippi dirt."

What they said.
