Kobe: Get Jerry West Or Trade Me

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is making a play for former Lakers -- and soon to be former Grizzlies chief executive Jerry West to make a return to Tinseltown.

This weekend, Bryant laid down the ultimatum that the team could either trade him or bring West back in full control of team personnel decisions. He later downgraded the ultimatum to a “suggestion.” Who’s really in charge around there, anyway?

At any rate, West didn’t say no. He told ESPN.com, "I haven't thought about it at all until Kobe brought it up today. My main priority is to [Grizzlies owner] Mike Heisley and to finish up with the Memphis Grizzlies. I am fiercely loyal to Mike, as I am to Mitch Kupchak. Having said that, I'm a lifelong Laker and we will see what happens."
