LEGACY

Perveen Rustomfram, widow of late Flyer editor/sports columnist Dennis Freeland, and Feroza, their seven-year-old daughter, were on hand with other members of the Freeland family Saturday at The Pyramid for ceremonies honoring Freeland and renaming the University of Memphis locker room at the facility in his honor. The plaque reads: "The University of Memphis locker room at The Pyramid from this day forth shall be named in the honor of Dennis Freeland, who as a member of the Memphis media, covered Tiger basketball for the Memphis Flyer for over 10 years, who, as a Tiger basketball fan, demonstrated his love for this team from his days as a Memphis student"
