This seven-song EP from one of Memphis' finest rock bands features two new versions of songs ("Ms June," "Comforted") first released on the band's 2004 album Doing the Distance and might be considered a stop-gap product until the band's next full-length album, which is due this fall. But it also serves another function — building off the band's (and, more so, co-frontman Brad Postlethwaite's) high-profile appearances in Craig Brewer's MTV series $5 Cover by showcasing the new leadoff track "Nothing I Can Do," a sparkling, eloquent roots-pop gem that's featured in the series and stands as one of the best songs Postlethwaite has ever written. ("Nothing I Can Do," "Get It On") — CH
