Master Music Class at U of M

A legendary producer and a popular lead singer are coming to the University of Memphis’ Rudi E. Scheidt School of music on April 16th and 17th.

George Massenburg, who has helped produce more than 200 albums with such artists as Billy Joel, James Taylor, and the Dixie Chicks, will teach master classes and give demonstrations for music industry students, including a live recording session with platinum-selling singer Brian Vander Ark.

The free event, which is open to the public, should be of interest to audio engineers, music produers, and all music professions. Massenburg will also speak on the current and future state of the music industry at the FedEx Institute of Technology on Tuesday, April 17th, at 7:30 p.m. Email requests for reservations to aes@music.memphis.edu.
