Re: “Izakaya to Close

Danzo....if this were the usual and customary "restaurant building", I might agree....but it's not...not even close. I just hope this couple doesn't lose everything due to some bad advise and misguided effort...

Re: “Izakaya to Close

The Red Fish Bistro has always been good as far as food/service go, but this building is so over the top for the likes of it. This is so sad, but, unfortunately, was so predictable. This couple wanted to originally bulldoze this building, and put up another one, more suitable for "Red Fish"...but June climbed in their heads, and they're left with, no doubt, crippling debt, and a building that is far more than they need. I wish they would try to use it as a formal venue rental space, but I'm sure they're looking for a daily source of income to pay off the debt. I hope an organization with some money (obviously NOT Memphis Heritage) will step in with a plan. Such an f-ing shame...

Re: “Hopdoddy Coming to Overton Square

BP45 - This discussion is about having too many burger joints in the immediate Overton Square area, specifically...not the entire city of Memphis, in general.

Re: “Hopdoddy Coming to Overton Square

Actually, FUNKbrs, a wing joint, without skeevyness or bars on the windows, would probably do better than another burger joint. That's one of the few things, food-wise, that doesn't exist in OS (I don't think??).

Re: “Hopdoddy Coming to Overton Square

Yeah....I was thinking that OS really does not need another "gourmet" (which usually means overpriced) burger joint. of luck to them!

Re: “Never Seen It: Watching Zardoz with Filmmaker John Pickle

I can't believe I have never heard of this movie....but I've rented it from Amazon Prime and will be watching it sometime this weekend. Sounds truly bizarre...
