Memphis Beats Southern Miss, 76-67

It wasn't easy or pretty, but the Memphis Tigers held off a late Southern Miss run to win in Hattiesburg Saturday afternoon, 76-67, clinching the CUSA regular season championship.

Derrick Rose scored 22 of his 23 points in the second half to lead the Tigers' scoring, along with Chris Douglas-Roberts, who also had 23. Jeremy Wise led Southern Miss with 26.

After a nip-and-tuck second half, Memphis gained an 9-point lead with five minutes left, but Southern Miss closed to within three points with under three minutes left, 64-61. The Tigers made clutch shots and their free throws down the stretch to salt the game away. Stats, recap.
