Memphis Trounces UCLA in NCAA Semifinal, 78-63; Will Face Kansas in Final

The Memphis Tigers are headed to the NCAA basketball tournament's national championship game Monday night, after dispatching the vaunted UCLA Bruins, 78-63.

The Tigers played a workmanlike game, never trailing after the opening minutes and keeping the pressure on UCLA throughout the game. Tiger back-court players Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts proved to be unstoppable, scoring 25 and 28 points, respectively. Joey Dorsey didn't score, but pulled down 15 rebounds.

The Tiger big men effectively neutralized highly touted UCLA big man, Kevin Love, holding him to 12 points. UCLA guard Darren Collison was thoroughly neutralized by the bigger Memphis backcourt and only scored 2 points of 1 of 9 shooting from the field.

Memphis will play Kansas Monday night for the national championship. Kansas blew out North Carolina in the other semi-final game, 84-66.

GO Tigers!
