Actor, Republican, and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson is challenging fellow thespian Martin Sheen to a debate of sorts. To counter Sheen's anti-war ads Thompson is starring in a series of 30-second spots designed to support President Bush's "hard-line position" concerning military action against Iraq. In his commercial, Thompson says, "People ask, 'What has Saddam done to us?' I ask, 'What had the 9/11 hijackers done to us before 9/11?'" Of course, following Thompson's sterling logic the exact same thing could be said about -- oh, say -- Canada!
