Skip in the Bigs

Last season, Skip Schumaker was a sparkplug for the Memphis Redbirds, leading the team with 127 hits and 13 stolen bases. Wednesday night in Philadelphia, Schumaker connected for his first major-league home run, helping St. Louis beat the Phillies, 4-3. He’s the subject of today’s column by Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
