Star Date

Ghom PoH! That's Klingon for "party time!" The 27th annual MidSouth Con, the networking event where warriors, wizards, vampires, and Vulcans gather together in a hotel to celebrate a vast mutual love of science fiction, fantasy literature, film, animation, gaming, and comic books gets under way on Friday, March 20th, and runs through Sunday, March 22nd. As always, the Con features anime, movies, panel discussions, and an array of artists and guests ranging from Batman/X-Men writer John Ostrander to Wild Mercy, a Pegasus Award-nominated Celtic-based electro-acoustic folk-rock band. What else might you see at the Con? Check out this excerpt from the Con's chat forums about the revealing costumes some fans plan on almost wearing:

• "Maybe Giselle from Enchanted."

• "If the Green Lantern became a magical anime girl."

• "Anyone know where to get a generous supply of blue makeup for my Doctor Manhattan costume?"

Good times. Or "Qu' PoH" as they say in space.

MidSouth Con 27, Friday, March 20th-Sunday, March 22nd, at Whispering Woods Conference Center, Olive Branch, MS. Adults: $45. Go to midsouthcon.org for more information.
