Steve Cohen Blogs on Obama and Hillary

Might we have just witnessed the dawning of a new era of politics in America in the last 24 hours?

Might we have just witnessed the dawning of a new era of politics in America in the last 24 hours? I will admit that I was taken aback by speculation that President-elect Barack Obama was considering none other than his former rival-in-chief, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, for arguably the most important post in his upcoming administration, Secretary of State ...

Ninth District Congressman Steve Cohen blogs about Obama and HRC on Huffington Post.

"Her finely honed skills in negotiation"??? Isn't this the same person who said that Obama wasn't fit to lead because he would negotiate? And where did Hillary get these skills? Oh yeah, 'under fire in Bosnia'. This is not 'change'.... this is putting in the same lying crooks and haters who gave us Enron and Ken Lay and the Defense of Marriage Act, who support the war and the Patriot Act, and are getting richer from it all. What happened to immediately shutting down Gitmo by the way? Now it is 'reviewing the detainee's case files'.

I think Steve meant to say "her finely honed skills in refusing to recognize reality, i.e. the simple mathematics of a delegate count."

Sorry, Stev-o but I supported Obama in the primaries because Hillary voted for the war, which makes her fail the most important test of all on foreign affairs. She blew it. She would NOT be a good SOS. Besides, it messes up the Senatorial balance of power if President Obama starts picking a bunch of Dem Senators to fill administrative posts. He needs to go with Richardson for Sec. of State. Let Hillary become the Senate Majority leader and leave it at that.

Seers and prophets should be able to foresee payday loans in their future, because there isn't much money in guessing how 2008 would turn out. (Nostradamus himself was actually kicked out of college for lying on his application.) This year did not go as predicted at all. For instance, the $4 per gallon is now about $1.50, and the next President of the United States is indeed Barack Obama. No one can guess the future, but 2009 ought to be quite the year indeed. To read about predictions gone wrong and some thoughts on payday loans, check out this article.
