Tall Tales from a Large Man

When: Thu., Sept. 20, 7 p.m. 2012
If you’re in the mood for some really passionate talk about graphic design — yeah, fonts! — then there’s no way you can miss Portland-based artist Aaron Draplin, who first made his name in snowboarding design and has since worked for everyone from Nike and Field Notes to the U.S. government.

Draplin makes two appearances at the Brooks this week. Tonight, he delivers “Tall Tales from a Large Man,” his treatise on the importance of bold design. A party with cash bar follows. On Friday, he gives a philosophy-of-life talk, “27-Point Plan to Ruin Yer Career,” at 10 a.m. Tickets for the Friday event are $8 for museum members, $12 for nonmembers.
