thursday, april 19th

Today kicks off the 15th Annual Africa in April Cultural Awareness Festival on Beale Street. Blithe Spirit -- a comedy-fantasy about a man s dead wife coming back to life -- opens at Theatre Memphis. There s a Party with the Plants Preview Party at Memphis Botanic Garden, a precursor to this weekend s Spring s Best Plant Sale and Garden Symposium. And last but certainly not least, tonight s biggest bash is Taste of the Nation at The Peabody, where there will be a carved-ice martini bar, a Plymouth Gin-only martini bar with a British bartender, hors d oeuvres, and a seated dinner prepared by 30 local chefs. All proceeds benefit programs to feed the hungry.

  • Scotched and Trumped!

I've been trying not to write much about Donald Trump because the idiot is getting way too much publicity, but I figured not many people pay attention to me, so I'm not adding to the media frenzy that much when I state that I really do think he might be the Antichrist.
