"For better or worse, with Gasol’s injury, the team’s on-court and financial struggles, and growing fan anxiety (and anger) about Gasol, things seem to be heading towards some kind of action on this front.

"The notion that Gasol would demand a trade based upon unhappiness with the team’s rebuilding mode (rather than more general unhappiness) would be disappointing to me, though: With the emergence of Rudy Gay, the return of Kyle Lowry next season, a high-level lottery pick on tap, and cap room this summer, I certainly see the potential for a quick turnaround for the Grizzlies."
