It s finally here: the Stax Music Academy Grand Opening, next door to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, slated to open this fall. There are all sorts of festivities beginning at 10 a.m., including the dedication of the academy, performances by the academy s summer-camp groups, tours of the academy open to the public, and much more. The celebration goes on for two more days, but much more about that in next week s column. But today, the Stax Music Academy is the only place to be. And there you have it. As always, I really don t care what you do, because I don t even know you, and unless you get me just a tiny chunk of the $36 million Dick Cheney made in his last year at Halliburton, I m sure I don t want to meet you. Besides, it s time for me to blow this dump for the 700th time and go, well, I don t know. Maybe see a man about a shooter. --T.S.
