WEVL Blues on the Bluff

When: Sat., July 24, 6-11 p.m. 2010
Phone: 528-0560
Scott Bomar has been busy lately recording local and national acts at his Electraphonic Studio, but this weekend he returns to the stage in his role as leader of the Bo-Keys, an R&B band that unites Memphis soul-scene veterans with some ace younger-generation players. The Bo-Keys are the middle act in a three-band bill at community radio station WEVL-FM’s annual Blues on the Bluff party. The first band, set to go on at 6:30 p.m., is the Last Chance Jug Band, featuring longtime WEVL programmer David Evans. Closing the show will be the Eric Deaton Trio with Kent Kimbrough, a hill-country blues band with the late Junior Kimbrough’s son on drums. As always, Blues on the Bluff will happen on the grounds of the National Ornamental Metal Museum. The festivities will be held Saturday, July 24th. Admission is $15.
