Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers pepper-sprayed peaceful protesters at Saturday’s No Kings rally Downtown. A video by Boyds Hot Images shows a group of attendees with arms linked walking down Linden. They are set upon by MPD officers who grab them; one sprays them with a chemical agent. MPD issued a statement saying the organizers’ permit was for a rally, and there were no provisions made “to turn the rally into a march on the city streets.”

Memphis Made Brewing Co. closed its taproom in the Edge District with one last hoorah Sunday. The brewery opened its original taproom in Cooper-Young in 2013. It will continue to make beer for restaurants around town, including the Memphis-Made-branded restaurant in Memphis International Airport.
