Last weekend, I caught some of the Memphis Concréte Experimental Music Festival at the Green Room in the Crosstown Concourse. It was a mind-expanding show that culminated with the gorgeous “Duets for Theremin” set from thereminst Kate Taylor and the Memphis Flyer‘s own Alex Greene on keys.

Saturday night at the Green Room featured the grooves of Nashvilian Eve Maret, who is sporting an ever-fashionable Grace Jones mohawk in this video by director Jereme Frey.

Sunday’s gothiest set came from Berlin’s Slow Slow Loris, seen here performing live in a graveyard.

Among the Memphians who were making weird noises in the Green Room was Shake Machine Down, seen here performing live at Havenhaus.

One of the highlights of Sunday was Artificer, who wove samples and drone together into a transportive sonic tapestry.
