Memphis’ own Sleepy Loco concocted a monster hit about his hometown.
Since “Memphis” was released last summer, it’s chalked up more than 1 million views on YouTube. The track features 901 legends 8Ball & MJG rapping about the classic Bluff City lifestyle acronym “Makin’ Easy Money Pimpin’ Hoes in Style.” Hey, if ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
The video by Ulua was shot in Orange Mound, and it gives you a taste of the historic Black neighborhood. Sleepy’s on the street with some classic cars and getting a haircut in a crowded barber shop. Looks like it was a good day.
