RiverArtsFest Wine

Posted By on Fri, Oct 16, 2009 at 2:22 PM

In honor of the next weekend's RiverArtsFest, area wine retailers are selling RiverArtsFest wine.

The wines — Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet — are from a private label in Sonoma Valley. The bottles' labels are the festival's poster, which was designed by local artist John Robinette. Proceeds from the sales (the wines all retail for $14.99) go to the festival.

According to Bill Huddleston of Southwest Distributing, these are "easy" wines, not the sort you put away for 50 years. Huddleston says the white is "soft, tropical." The reds, he says, taste of dark fruit.

Robinette will be signing bottles Saturday, October 17th, at Joe's at noon and at the Wine Market at 1:30 p.m.

The wines are also available at Buster's, Corkscrew (where the helpful staff let me take this picture — thanks, guys), and Kirby. They will not, however, be sold at the festival.

The RiverArtsFest is Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th.
