Cozy Corner Expands Hours

Posted By on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 1:23 PM

Cozy Corner has long been a barbecue legend in Memphis, tucked away in an otherwise empty shopping center. Unassuming building and limited hours — 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday — have always given it a sort of mystique. Now, Cozy Corner is extending its hours, and let me be the first to say that I’m happy to swap a little mystique for a chance to take home one of their Cornish hens for dinner.

As of April 13th, the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’re trying out the new hours for the summer, but Bobby Bradley of Cozy Corner hopes the change will be permanent.

“We have a lot of customers that have requested we stay open later, so they can stop by after work, take something home or stay for dinner.”

In addition to the requests of loyal patrons, Bobby had food tourists in mind when he made the decision.

“When people visit Memphis and are sitting in their hotel rooms thinking ‘Where should I go for barbecue?’ I want people to be able to recommend us.”
