Memphis Beat's Eats

People are acting like Memphis Beat punched their baby in the face. And while it's not the best thing I've ever seen, it's certainly not the worst, not even close.

But what I'm concerned with is how the show fared food- and drink-wise.

We've got biscuits from the Arcade and chicken from Gus's, though people have pointed out that Gus's doesn't use take-out boxes.

Another inaccuracy happens in the show's first moments at the convenience store, where they're selling liquor and wine. As if!

One glaring absence is barbecue. Coworker Greg Akers, who reviewed the show, has got that one figured out. He says that the show, so bent on proving its Memphis bona-fides, will most certainly have an episode featuring a crime revolving around a beloved barbecue pit master.

Lots of possibility in that scenario. What if the beloved barbecue pit master is cooking up people low and slow? This episode surely demands a cameo from John Willingham.

Got any food-centric ideas for Memphis Beat?
