Robert Hummel, the acknowledged master of political direct mailing in Memphis, who worked across party lines for a Who’s Who of political candidates and campaigns, collapsed and died Wednesday at his current Memphis workplace at American Resource Systems in Bartlett.

Hummel’s late mother, Barbara Walker Hummel, was a Miss America in 1948, and his brother, Andy Hummel, was a founding member of Big Star, the power rock band headed by the late Alex Chilton.

Further information will be posted here as it is learned.

    • Cohen to Introduce Articles of Impeachment against Trump

Ranking member of House Judiciary subcommittee, says, apropos Charlottesville and Trump's apparent defense of the white nationalist fomentors there: "There are no good Nazis. There are no good Klansmen."

This is worth watching from beginning to end -- even for those who might disagree on the politics of the matter.
