It’s nice to be publicly recognized by your superiors at work — unless you happen to be an undercover police officer. Last week, Sheriff Mark Luttrell’s office sent out a press release to local media commending 431 Shelby County Sheriff’s Office employees for perfect attendance in 2005, naming each. Today, the sheriff’s office sent out another release asking media not to include the names of those employees working in the gang and narcotics bureaus. Seems it’s not cool to narc out a narc — even if they do show up every day.
