Allan Stanford Convicted

Posted on Tue, Mar 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM

The New York Times is reporting that financier Allan Stanford has been convicted of 13 counts of fraud.

Stanford drew local attention through his Memphis office Stanford Financial and his benevolence to local causes and charities, including Youth Villages and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Stanford was the subject of many stories in the Flyer, including this February 2009 story "Bonfires of the Vanities."
