The Grizzlies slowed down Denver's high-flying offense, but faded in the fourth quarter as the Nuggets finished the game on a 9-2 run to stop Memphis' latest win streak at six.

The game was tight through the first half, which ended 48-47, Denver. The Grizzlies clamped down in the third quarter, holding the explosive Nuggets to a season-low 10 points, and taking a 67-58 lead into the fourth. But it wasn't enough, as late-game execution errors and turnovers gave Denver the impetus to score 29 final quarter points en route to victory.

Zach Randolph led the Grizzlies with 18 points and 18 boards, but point guard Mike Conley had a sub-par game with seven turnovers and only three assists. It was the Grizzlies' third game in four nights on their western swing, so fatigue may have a been a factor. Denver has now won 11 straight, and has an impressive 30-3 record at home.

The Grizzlies, Nuggets, and Clippers are now knotted in three-way battle for third place in the Western division standings, with only a half-game separating them.

The Grizzlies complete their road trip tonight in Salt City against the Utah Jazz.

Game box score. (Editor's note: Chris Herrington is on assignment at SXSW in Austin. His Beyond the Arc blog will return next week.
